Birthday:
November 5
Civil Status:
Married to my bestbuddy Skye
Place of residence:
Manila, Philippines
Hobbies:
talking with my bestbudd, eating, watching movies, surfing the internet, writing songs
Vices:
None
Musical background:
I have no formal musical schooling except for a week of piano lessons. My teacher then had to return to Korea and I never followed up with any other teacher.
I joined the school choir when I was about 9 or 10 and then the church choir after that. I was a tenor in the children's choir but I was not able to retain the higher pitch after adolescence. Nevertheless, I took singing as a passion and started writing my own songs since high school.
I took interest in playing guitar when my older brother started playing. He was good and I was very anxious to learn it myself. He was kind enough to teach me my first few chords. I learned how to play some of the popular songs of my childhood and I joined my very first band in high school.
I joined a couple more bands in college but seeing the non productivity with the other members, I had to quit and resumed writing my own materials. I was able to record some of my songs using my old computer. I was then recruited by a former college classmate to play guitar and sing for a starting band called 10CM. We were able to play my songs and I wrote a few more for the band after that. After recruiting a new vocalist, I moved to backup vocals and focused more on guitars and that is currently how it is with my band. I am still writing some solo materials every now and then. Just check my music page to listen.
I am currently recruiting band members to my new project: a Christian alternative rock band. You can find the details here.

Recording: RJ electric guitar, Acoustica Premium acoustic guitar, Rocktone bass guitar, GTX distortion pedal, Zoom multi-fx pedal, generic LG10 analog amp, Mesa Boogie clean virtual amp, Marshall stock 70 virtual amp, FL studio XXL, Sony Vegas, Reaper, EZ Drummer, A4Tech headphones, and a cheap PC microphone
Idols in music:
I look up to Kevin Dotson or more commonly known as Linus of Hollywood as one of my biggest musical inspirations. I love his work with Size 14, pintSIZE, Paul Gilbert and some other bands, as well as his solo materials. I respect his talents in singing, songwriting and playing various instruments. What he has now is exactly my dream: to be able to play heavy stuff while still writing light and heartwarming songs that come from the heart.
I also look up to some of the local musicians who strive to promote good music in a country where poverty and corruption is included (and even forced) on the daily menu: Mr. Eric Tubon for his works with Fuseboxx and for actively advocating for the local progressive rock music to be heard and appreciated, and Mr. Ely Buendia for the clever and creative songs with Eraserheads, and all the prog and indie bands of the Philippines.
Idols in life:
My parents, Jose Rizal, and lots of musicians.
Place you would like to go:
My bestbudd and I have so many places we want to go to but we think it's great to start here in our homeland first.
What makes you laugh:
Family Guy, Strangebrew, Brewrats, Simpsons and the great times with my buddy
First record you bought:
I used to just listen to what my brother had but the first CD I bought was the Listen EP of Fuseboxx.
